I wasn’t looking for a studio.

I had simply rented  Bricks & Mortar to photograph Michelle Schurman –PR genius. She’s just moved from Calgary to Kelowna and needed some updated branding shots in a modern, urban and trendy environment.  I love the B&M vibe, brick walls and floor to ceiling windows. It’s an amazing space and a gorgeous backdrop for professional photos. But after I spent some time there, in Kelowna’s Landmark District, something about it just started to feel right.  It felt like home.  What a strange little feeling.

Sometimes the universe hands you exactly what you need before you even ask. And this studio? It’s that gift.

A Space That Feels Bright with Energy and Comfy Like Home

Now, Wax Pencil Imagery has a New Home Base.

A modern, vibrant studio where people come to feel seen, celebrated, and photographed as their most honest, powerful selves.

This is a space built around a belief that’s guided me from the beginning:

You are enough.
As you are. Right now. Always.  You are valued, respected, celebrated. And your beauty comes from the hard parts of life you have muddled through to find your strength.

We don’t do stiff poses or fake smiles here.
We do laughter. Truth. Power. Warmth.
We do you.

Right in the Heart of the Landmark District

The Landmark District is like a mini city within Kelowna — full of big energy, brilliant ideas, and professionals building incredible things.

You can find me at: 1615 Dickson Ave, Unit 50A – Bricks and Mortar

Right alongside amazing creatives like Love and Flour and Sticks and Stone Interior Design.

It’s an inspiring place to work — and the perfect place to welcome you into your next chapter of visibility, confidence, and self-celebration.

What We’re Offering

In this new space, we now offer:

You don’t need to prepare or perform.
You just need to walk through the door — and we’ll take care of the rest.

Bonus Magic: I’m Working With My Daughter 😭

Here’s the part that makes me jump for joy: I’ve brought on an assistant — and it’s my daughter Mitchy.

She just finished animating Red Fish Blue Fish with Atomic Cartoons (no big deal, just Dr. Seuss greatness), and now she’s part of the Wax Pencil magic.

Getting to create and grow alongside her is one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done.

Come Visit

To every person who’s stood in front of my lens, cheered from the sidelines, or believed in this work — thank you.

I didn’t plan for this studio, but it showed up exactly when I was ready.
Now it’s here — and it’s for you.

If you’re looking for headshots, portraits, branding photography, event coverage, or video content in Kelowna, I’d love to welcome you in.

Let’s make something beautiful together. Something real. Something you.

Big Love,
Nicole
